Councilman Rick Matarante

    Councilman Matarante was appointed Second Ward Councilman in January of 2003, originally appointed to complete the unexpired term of Councilman Ricky Badillo, and is serving his second term as a member of the Governing Body. Rick is the Chairperson of the Finance & Administration Committee, Council Representative of the Police Department,  and Council Liaison to Morses Creek, The Board of Education and Recreation Committee's. Prior to Councilman Matarante's tenure on the Governing Body he served as an elected member of the Board of Education.

    Councilman Matarante is employed as an insurance fraud investigator for a large international life insurance company, and has been involved in the investigation of insurance fraud for over 20 years.

    In his  spare time, he volunteers his time to coach the Roselle Park American Legion Baseball team. Rick also serves as a college football referee working  in the Atlantic 10, Patriot and Ivy Leagues.

    Councilman Matarante has been a resident of Roselle Park over sixteen years. He graduated from Union High School and Rutgers University. He is married to Denise for 20 years and has two children, Samantha 14 and Ryan 11.
