For the last several months, the Borough of Roselle Park has been working with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Agency (DEP) to remediate the condition at the Roselle Park Youth Baseball League ball fields. Recently the DEP requested the closure of both Wolf and Adase Fields. As you may recall, in February the EPA requested the closure of Wolf Field alone.
I have requested that officials from the DEP meet with interested parents and residents to answer any questions concerning their recent decision. Therefore I would like to invite you to a public outreach meeting on October 17, 2006 at 7:30 pm at Borough Hall, 110 East Westfield Avenue.
Mr. Edward Putnam, Assistant Director, Remedial Response Element, Haiyesh Shah, Case Manager and Mark Herzberg, Community Relations Coordinator, representing the Department of Environmental Protection will be available to address any concerns you may have related to Wolf and Adase Fields. There will be a presentation and question and answer period. Please take this opportunity to meet with the representatives of the DEP and ask questions regarding your concerns.
Mayor Joseph DeIorio
