Dear Roselle Park Families, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the director of the Roselle Park Department of Recreation. My name is John Ranieri and I reside in Roselle Park with my wife Angelina. I am a proud father of four children. I have been employed by the Roselle Park School District as a Physical Educator and Driver Education Instructor for the past 25 years. I hold a BA in Health/Physical Education K-12, MA in Curriculum & Instruction and MA in Educational Leadership. Aside from my primary duty as an educator in our school district, I am also privileged to serve as the Roselle Park Summer Camp Director. In addition, I serve our community as the Roselle Park Dad’s Club Vice President, and as the director of the ASYC after school program. As the former head varsity coach of Roselle Park Wrestling, I have gained applicable experience in scheduling, seeding meetings, tournament organization, match preparation, and carefully budgeting the needs of all varsity, sub-varsity and recreational teams. I have also coached girls & boys track, various levels of football, managed a booster club, supervised a Strength & Conditioning Club, and created an intensive leadership program which stressed the importance of character, discipline, civic responsibility and academic achievement. I believe my related experience and involvement in our community’s programs as well as my vested interest as a life-long resident will surely aid in expanding the Roselle Park Department of Recreation to its greatest potential! I look forward to a fun and exciting year filled with growth and positivity! Sincerely, John Ranieri Director Department of Recreation
The Roselle Park Department Recreation is committed to providing our borough’s families with programs that foster a sense of community, sportsmanship and well-being. Currently, through our online portal (via Rec Desk), individuals can register for an Annual Membership. This membership will give you access to recreational sports (including but not limited to) Fitness & Training, Girls & Boys Basketball, Girls & Boys Wrestling, and Club Volleyball. Instruction by our committed coaches is primarily in sports such as basketball and wrestling. The main focus of all sports offerings and programs, however, is sportsmanship and positive engagement! Additionally, youth residents will be able to sign up for ASYC programs such as Homework Club and Aftercare. As we look forward to growing our programs, members will also be invited to participate in special events like 4-squares tournaments, dances, kickball games and more! As we continue to expand and flourish, The Roselle Park Department of Recreation intends to offer year-round and season-specific clinics, leagues, and programs to improve the physical abilities, general fitness, and athletic skills of our community members.
We are excited to announce that the Roselle Park Department of Recreation is now using RecDesk registration software! With RecDesk, customers/residents will have greater awareness of Recreation Department activities as well as ASYC programs and special events! Individuals can register online, pay with credit cards, check facility availability online, complete forms electronically, view paid and outstanding invoices, and more! By having this feature, our participants do not have to spend time over and over filling out the same forms or finding some time to come into the office to register. This program will allow you to register right from your computer or phone, without any hassles. This is new for us too, so any issues or questions, please contact us at recreation@rosellepark.net as we work to make registration and finding Roselle Park Recreation information an easier process!
Each individual must register for the Recreation Department Annual Membership in order to be eligible to participate in our various programs, sports, activities, and special events! Please note: Because we need to utilize this system for creating rosters and attendance lists, organizing teams and other important safety information and forms, we can no longer accept paper registration forms.
