The Borough of Roselle Park retains the services of professional engineering firms to meet the needs of the municipality. Contracts with these firms are retained through a "Fair and Open" procurement process using Requests for Proposals ("RFPs"). Beginning in 2022, the Borough spilt the municipal engineering function into two broad categories in order to better direct and organize the growing need for engineering services. The Municipal Engineer (also referred to the "Borough Engineer") is tasked with all of the requirements of state statute and local Ordinance and serves at the municipality's primarily consulting engineer. The Borough Engineer is appointed for a 3-year term. The Special Projects Engineer is tasked with all engineering services related to the Borough's Capital Improvements and other special projects and studies. The Special Projects Engineer is appointed for a 1-year term (annually).
