Notice of Mount Laurel Compliance Hearing

The Honorable Karen M. Cassidy, A.J.S.C. will conduct a hearing at 10:00 a.m. on February 18, 2016, at the Union County Courthouse, 1st Floor, Tower Building, 2 Broad Street, Elizabeth, New Jersey, to consider whether it would be appropriate to grant the Borough repose from all Mount Laurel lawsuits through July 1, 2025 in light of the current Housing Element and Fair Share Plan of the Borough of Roselle Park (hereinafter “Affordable Housing Plan”). To facilitate a resolution of this issue, the Borough has presented to the Court and placed on file with the Borough Clerk: (1) a copy of the Affordable Housing Plan adopted in 2009; (2) the Consent Order entered by Judge Cassidy on November 12, 2015 in the Mount Laurel Declaratory Judgment Action styled as In the Matter of the Application of the Bor. of Roselle Park, County of Union, Docket No. UNN-L-2061-15; and (3) a copy of the correspondence from Special Master Elizabeth C. McKenzie, P.P., A.I.C.P., dated November 30, 2015. These documents are available for public inspection at the office of the Borough Clerk at the Roselle Park Municipal Building, 110 East Westfield Avenue, Roselle Park, NJ during normal business hours.
Objections or comments by any interested party must be submitted in writing and filed no later than 10:00 a.m. on February 5, 2016 at the following addresses:

This Notice is intended to inform all interested parties of the Borough of Roselle Park’s request for repose from all Mount Laurel lawsuits through July 1, 2025. This Notice does not indicate any view by the Court, the Special Master, or the Borough as to whether the Court will ultimately grant the relief sought.
